Joseon Dynasty
The Joseon Dynasty enjoyed long periods of peace and prosperity. It adopted a strategic fortress by selecting Hanyang, now known as Seoul, as the new capital, and used the scholar-officials to continue the role of filial piety for the throne. Collections of knowledge and wisdom, such as the 15-volume agricultural text Nongsa Jikseol, and tales of Heungbu and Nolbu helped revive the lost long-term agricultural economy.
